AI visibility is how often AI assistants like ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity mention your store and products when shoppers ask what to buy, and whether Google’s AI Overviews mention you in search. Answers change from run to run, so we measure a mention rate across many questions, not a rank.
Mostly what other sites say about it. Studies of AI answers find that mentions in reviews, “best of” round-ups, YouTube videos and forums track AI visibility far more closely than backlinks or schema markup. For product results, complete product data (Shopify Catalog, Google Merchant Center), ratings, price and stock matter most. Your own pages need to be reachable and readable, but extra markup on its own has shown no measurable lift.
