Best AI Visibility Tool for Ecommerce Stores (2026)
SearchMention is the best AI visibility tool for most online stores: it shows the full ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews answer to each question your shoppers are likely to ask, the competitor named instead of you, whether the price AI quotes matches your live product page, and whether the link sends the buyer to your store, a reseller or another country. Enterprise retailers that need ChatGPT Shopping tracked at SKU level should pick Profound, and teams that want daily shopping-carousel analytics from $95/mo should pick Peec AI.
We build SearchMention, so read this as our view. Every competitor price below comes from the vendor's own pricing page, checked on October 17, 2026, and every pick includes when you should choose something else.
The short answer, by situation
- You want to see what AI tells shoppers about each product, and fix the right page: SearchMention (free audit, then $29/mo).
- You need daily numbers on the ChatGPT Shopping carousel: Peec AI ($95/mo) or, at enterprise scale, Profound.
- You want the tool to rewrite product data and feeds too: Ranketta (merchandising from €79/mo).
- You only need daily brand mentions, cheaply: Otterly.AI ($29/mo, no product catalog).
What a store needs that a brand tracker doesn't show
Most AI visibility tools were built for brands: they ask a model about a category and count how often your name comes up. A store loses sales in places that count misses, because the shopper is asking about a product and the answer ends in a link to a checkout.
The product, not the brand. Shoppers ask "best halal omega-3 for someone who doesn't eat fish", not "is BrandX good". The answer names a product, so the tool has to match it to one of your product pages, or you can't tell which page to fix.
The price AI quotes. ChatGPT and AI Overviews often state a price. If it's last year's price or the wrong size, the shopper compares it against a competitor's and you lose before the click. Checking it means reading the price in the answer and comparing it with every variant on your live page.
Where the link sends the buyer. Being named is not the same as getting the sale. In our study of 404 shopper questions for 27 small stores, when ChatGPT named one of the stores it attached 82 product links to that store, and only 30 (37%) went to the store's own site; 12 went to its storefront for another country. A mention count calls every one of those answers a win.
Two surfaces. ChatGPT shows products in a shopping carousel built from merchant data, and names products in the written answer. Some tools measure one, some the other. Know which one your shoppers see before you buy.

The six tools, ranked for online stores
1. SearchMention
Best for stores that want to see the AI answer about each product, and fix the right page
SearchMention asks ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews the questions your shoppers are likely to ask before buying and shows each answer in full, with the products it named, the competitor it put ahead of you and the sources it used. Then it checks what a mention count can't: the price in the answer against every live variant on your product page, and where each link actually goes, whether that's your store, Amazon, a reseller, your storefront for another country, or a page that no longer exists.
It works from your catalog on Shopify (app), WooCommerce (catalog sync) and Magento, so a mention is tied to the product page you'd edit. Shopify stores also see where each product ranks in Shopify Catalog for the same question, next to what ChatGPT answered. AI Readiness shows what stops AI from reading a product, and AI Traffic shows the crawlers and the clicks from AI answers.

Peec AI is one of the strongest analytics platforms in the category, used by more than 3,500 brands and agencies by its own count. 3. Profound
Best for enterprise retailers with large catalogs and a team to act on the data
Profound has the deepest shopping coverage we found: how often and in what order your products surface when AI platforms switch to Shopping mode, the product pages, publishers, affiliates and forums AI cites, a dataset of more than 2 billion real user prompts, and FactCheck, which compares what AI says against your own knowledge base. Its pricing page lists no self-serve plan after the trial: the shopping features are sold on Enterprise.

Ranketta tracks how often AI assistants recommend each product, then goes further than most trackers: its merchandising agent rewrites catalog data and content and connects your feed to the engines that read it. Its pricing page names Shopify, Adobe Commerce and Shoptet, and higher plans cover several countries, which helps stores selling across the EU.

It's simple and well priced for what it does. It doesn't import a product catalog, so it reports your brand, not which product was named or at what price.

Already paying for an SEO suite?
Semrush (AI Search from the $199 Starter plan, 50 prompts daily) and Ahrefs Brand Radar (custom prompts from a $50 add-on), both checked October 6, 2026, track brand mentions and the sources behind them inside tools your SEO team already uses. Neither tracks products or checks prices, but if the question is "which sites make AI recommend our competitors", they're a reasonable place to start.
How we checked
We build SearchMention, so we ranked it first; the order of the others is our judgment of fit for a store selling its own products. Prices come from each vendor's public pricing page on October 17, 2026, in monthly billing. Feature claims come from the vendors' product and help pages, checked October 5–6, 2026, and where we couldn't find a feature we say "not found on its site" rather than "no". Our full notes, with sources, are behind the side-by-side comparison pages.
If a vendor's plan has changed, tell us and we'll correct the page.
FAQ
What is the best tool to monitor AI visibility for an ecommerce store?
For most online stores, SearchMention: it shows the full ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews answer to each question your shoppers are likely to ask, the competitor named instead of you, whether the price AI quotes matches your live product page, and whether the link sends the buyer to your store, a reseller or another country. It has a free plan and starts at $29/mo. Enterprise retailers that need ChatGPT Shopping tracking at SKU level should look at Profound; teams that want daily shopping-carousel analytics from $95/mo should look at Peec AI.
How is AI visibility for an ecommerce store different from brand monitoring?
Shoppers ask about products, not brands ("best lightweight hiking tent under $300"), and the answer names products, quotes prices and links to a page where the buyer can check out. A brand tracker tells you whether your name appeared. A store also needs to know which product was named, whether the quoted price is right, and whether the link goes to your store or to Amazon, a reseller or another country's storefront.
Should a store track the ChatGPT Shopping carousel or the written answer?
They are two different surfaces. The carousel shows product cards from merchant data; the written answer names products in text and links to pages. Peec AI and Profound measure the carousel; SearchMention reads the written answer on ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews and checks every link and price in it. If you can only pick one, start with the surface your shoppers see for your category: ask ChatGPT a few of their questions and look.
How much does AI visibility tracking cost for an online store?
As of October 2026: SearchMention has a free audit, then $29/mo; Otterly starts at $29/mo for 15 prompts (brand only, no catalog); Ranketta starts at €29/mo; Peec AI and Promptwatch start at $95/mo; Profound sells Enterprise plans after a 7-day free trial.
Can an AI visibility tool get my products into ChatGPT?
No tool can guarantee it. ChatGPT decides what to name from the pages it reads and the product data it receives. A tool shows which questions you lose, who wins them, and what AI reads instead, so you fix the right thing. Some tools, such as Ranketta and several Shopify apps, also edit product data for you.
See what AI tells shoppers about your products
The free plan asks ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews 15 questions your shoppers are likely to ask and shows every answer, the brands named instead of you, and where each link sends the buyer.
